An Old Okonomiyaki Restaurant We Love 　お好み焼き

This is a photo of one of our favorite okonomiyaki restaurants, seen from the street.　Located in Asakusa 浅草, Tokyo.（Sometaroh in Asakusa）

My wife and I first came here almost thirty years ago. Since then, we have returned many times. The building is old, simple, and full of character — the kind of place that feels more like old Tokyo than modern Tokyo.

Inside, there is no air conditioning, so in summer it can feel very hot... Yes it can be a bit too much, sometimes. But somehow, that is also part of the experience and its charm. We still love it.

Asakusa is famous for monjayaki, a Tokyo-style dish cooked on a hot iron plate. Different kind of Okonomiyaki. This restaurant, however, is not a monjayaki restaurant. (The word “okonomiyaki” can mean many different styles, depending on the region and the restaurant.)

For us, this place is not only about the food. It is also about memory, atmosphere, and the feeling of sitting inside an old local restaurant that has quietly stayed the same over the years.
