Koi at Senso-ji Temple, Asakusa　　浅草　鯉　

In the heart of busy Asakusa, Senso-ji Temple is usually full of movement — visitors walking through the gates, the sound of prayers, incense smoke rising, and shops lining the approach to the temple.

But inside the temple grounds, there are also quieter moments.

This photo was taken at the pond in Senso-ji（浅草寺),　where many beautiful koi swim through the water. Behind them, you can also see a small stone bridge, known in Japanese as shakkyō.

Koi are often associated with strength, elegance, and good fortune in Japan.

Watching them move slowly through the pond gives a different feeling from the lively Nakamise shopping street or the grand Main Hall of Senso-ji.

The koi were moving calmly through the water, almost as if they were in a different.
